mrs. Veronica I. hernandez
Mrs. Hernandez is the Science Department Chairperson and teaches 7th and 8th grade science at the Brownsville Learning Academy. Mrs. Hernandez graduated from Gladys Porter High School and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. During college, she enjoyed working outdoors at the University farm and studying plants and animals. After graduation, she then spent 2 years studying veterinary medicine at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Mrs. Hernandez enjoys teaching 7th grade science the most because it deals with teaching students about plants and animals. She is able to use her love for animals and her knowledge of living things to help her students better understand life science. In her spare time, Mrs. Hernandez enjoys gardening, horseback riding, fishing, and traveling. She also works with other animal lovers who rescue and foster animals that are injured and need medical care.
